Since video games were created, it has become a growing industry which has affected people's childhood, relationships, lifestyle and career. Video games have the power to change the way people think, the way that people can learn, relax, and form relationships. Games have become an important part of social interactions, whether it is creating them, playing them, or bonding over watching them be played. Many conversations and friendships are sparked by people talking about their favorite games or a task in a game they found frustrating but overcame, or a new game they are excited about. Games connect people who otherwise might have never met, and the way to start the spark for these connections between people is a good game design.

You can have a great idea, but if it is not executed properly then it might as well be moot. This is true whether it is a game or a product. If the idea cannot be conveyed to the customer or player, then the user will become frustrated and won't continue to use the product or enjoy it. If the players cannot enjoy, engage, connect or in some way gain a type of experience from a game, then is there a purpose to the game? I'm not saying every game has to have a deep, philosophical meaning; games that are just used for personal entertainment or skill such as Tetris can still spark conversations about skill level or high scores. However, games have the power to be much more than that, and I want to be part of that process- to bring entertainment and to connect people.
